Dhaka: BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia's personal physician and BNP Standing Committee Member Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain stated that Khaleda Zia is responding to the treatment being provided by her medical team. "Madam Zia is maintaining the treatment. She is able to receive the procedures the doctors are administering. Please pray for her so she can continue the treatment and recover," Dr. Zahid told reporters in front of Evercare Hospital in the capital last night.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, doctors in Bangladesh are consulting with specialists in the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, China, and the United States about her ongoing treatment. "Her treatment is continuing and will remain so based on these joint discussions," Dr. Zahid added.

Dr. Zahid mentioned that arrangements have been made to ensure the BNP chief receives the best medical care available. He stated, "We will inform everyone once the medical board advises that she needs to be transferred abroad."

He further noted that Khaleda Zia's condition has remained stable for the past three days. "Medically, we say she is able to tolerate and accept the treatment she is being given," he explained.

Dr. Zahid urged BNP leaders and activists not to gather at the hospital unnecessarily, as some 300 other patients are also admitted there. "We request everyone to avoid creating crowds so that treatment activities of other patients are not disrupted. Stay in your respective areas and pray for her recovery according to your religious practices," he said.
