Students to Receive Textbooks in January, Confirms Education Adviser

Bhola: Primary and Mass Education Adviser Prof. Dr. Bidhan Ranjan Roy Poddar today announced that students will receive their textbooks at the very beginning of next January. "Many textbooks have already been dispatched to the district level and we have undertaken comprehensive initiatives to enhance the quality of primary education," he shared with journalists after attending a seminar at the Deputy Commissioner's office as the chief guest.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the seminar, titled "Strategy for Completion of Infrastructure Construction Activities under PEDP-4 and the Demand-Based Development Project for Government Primary Schools," was organized jointly by the Bhola district administration and the Primary and Mass Education Department. Dr. Bidhan emphasized the crucial role of teachers, stating that they are the backbone of primary education. He noted improvements in teachers' conditions, including upgrading the status of headmasters to the 10th grade and ongoing efforts to elevate assistant teachers to the 11th grade.

He further mentioned that instructions have been issued to repair primary schools that will serve as polling centers in the upcoming 13th national election. Later, Dr. Bidhan attended a discussion at Bhola Zila Parishad auditorium as the chief guest on "The Role of Stakeholders in Improving the Quality of Primary Education."

The meeting was presided over by DC Bhola Dr. Shamim Rahman, with Additional Director General of the Directorate of Primary Education Md. Atikur Rahman as a special guest. Other notable attendees included Director Planning and Development of the directorate Mirajul Islam Ukil, District Primary Education Officer Bhola Azharul Haque Azad, and senior officials of the Bhola district administration.
