Dhaka: BNP standing committee member and personal physician to BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, Dr AZM Zahid Hossain, stated that any decision concerning her transfer abroad for advanced treatment will depend on her physical condition and the recommendations of the medical board overseeing her care.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dr Zahid, during a briefing on Khaleda Zia's health at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka, mentioned that the decision to send her abroad hinges on her overall physical health and the medical board's advice. He emphasized that the highest standard of treatment available in the country has been arranged for her. He added that once the medical board makes any recommendations about taking her abroad, the information will be shared.

Dr Zahid further noted that Khaleda Zia's condition has remained stable for the past three days, indicating she is maintaining the treatment and is able to receive the care provided. He urged for prayers for her continued treatment and recovery.

He also appealed to BNP leaders and activists to refrain from crowding the hospital, emphasizing the need to avoid disrupting treatment activities for around 300 other patients currently admitted. He requested everyone to pray for her recovery from their respective locations.

Additionally, Dr Zahid mentioned that BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman is monitoring Khaleda Zia's treatment regularly and expressed gratitude for the support and concern shown by many heads of state, heads of government, and foreign countries over her health.
