Dhaka: Adviser to the BNP Acting Chairman, Dr. Mahdi Amin, announced that ailing BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia might be taken abroad for advanced treatment if her condition shows signs of improvement. Dr. Amin shared this information through a post on his verified Facebook page, mentioning that the Zia family plans to take her to London for further medical care.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Tarique Rahman and his wife have already initiated contact with the hospital and doctors in London, where Khaleda Zia had previously stayed for four months and experienced a significant recovery earlier this year. In preparation for this potential move, arrangements are underway to organize a special air ambulance featuring advanced technology.

Dr. Mahdi Amin highlighted that Dr. Zubaida Rahman, Tarique Rahman's wife, is playing a crucial role in coordinating the medical board responsible for Khaleda Zia's treatment. He emphasized her involvement both domestically and internationally, ensuring seamless coordination as a vital member of the team. Meanwhile, Tarique Rahman oversees the process from London, ensuring that his mother's treatment proceeds without any delays or limitations.

Despite her admission to Evercare Hospital, Khaleda Zia's treatment is being managed by a team of local and foreign specialist doctors. Tarique Rahman and his wife maintain regular virtual communication with the doctors from London, taking the required actions to facilitate her treatment.

Dr. Mahdi Amin also noted that Khaleda Zia embodies the emotions, aspirations, and sentiments of the entire nation of Bangladesh. Although many people wish to visit her at the hospital, entry into the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) is restricted due to the high risk of infection. Consequently, individuals are expressing their love and concern from a distance.
