Dhaka: The interim government today transferred 13 superintendents of police (SPs) across the country. Officials familiar with the development at the Home Ministry and Police Headquarters said some of the BCS police cadre officials were given responsibility as additional inspector general (current charge).
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the home ministry has issued a notification suggesting that 10 SPs were transferred to different police units with the same status, while three of them were given additional responsibility. The list of transferred officers includes notable changes such as SP of Molvibazar MKH Jahangir Hossen moving to the Special Branch (SB) as Special SP, and SP of Rangpur Abu Sayeem to Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) as Deputy Commissioner (DC). Other significant transfers include SP of Sherpur Md Aminul Islam to the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) as SP, and SP of Kurigram Md Mahfuzur Rahman to Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RpMP) as DC.
The notification further elaborates that the government has assigned additional responsibility of three SPs as additional inspector general (current charge). SP of Sunamganj Tofail Ahmed has been transferred to Khulna Range as additional inspector general (current charge), SP of Sirajganj Md Faruk Hossain to Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) as additional commissioner (current charge), and SP of Cox's Bazar Md Saifuddin Shaheen to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) as additional inspector general (current charge).
