Dhaka: Inspector General of Police (IGP) of Bangladesh Baharul Alam today departed from Dhaka to attend the 93rd INTERPOL General Assembly in Marrakesh, Morocco. The assembly, which will take place over four days from November 24 to 27, will see the participation of high-level representatives from 196 member countries.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the IGP is leading a three-member delegation from Bangladesh and will engage in policy discussions on significant issues such as counter-terrorism, cybercrime, human trafficking, organized and transnational crime, and police capacity building. A press release from the Police Headquarters emphasized the importance of these discussions.
During the assembly, the IGP plans to conduct bilateral meetings with police chiefs from several countries to improve cooperation in areas like information sharing, joint operations, and capacity development. This participation is expected to enhance Bangladesh’s global reputation and strengthen its multilateral partnerships.
The IGP is scheduled to return to Bangladesh on November 30.
