Dhaka: The District and City Imam-Khatib Conference, organized by the Shane Sahaba National Khatib Foundation's district and city units, is set to take place at the town hall ground in Cumilla tomorrow. The event, which will commence at 9 am, will feature Dr. AFM Khalid Hossain, Religious Affairs Adviser, as the chief guest, drawing considerable enthusiasm from the organizers and participants alike.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Shaykh Abdullah Al-Mamun Mostafi, President of the Cumilla city unit of the foundation, revealed details of the event during a press conference at the Cumilla Press Club. The conference aims to empower Imams and Khatibs in their roles of ethical leadership, religious instruction, social harmony, and maintaining peace and order in the country. "We want to create a comprehensive platform of knowledge and inspiration for Imam-Khatibs as their role is extremely important in establishing peace, harmony, and Islamic ideals in the country," he stated.
The conference will feature Shaykh Mufti Shamim Mojumdar (Hafi), Chairman of the Shane Sahaba National Khatib Foundation, as the main speaker. Special guests will include Abdus Salam Khan, Director General of the Islamic Foundation, Md Reza Hasan, Deputy Commissioner of Cumilla, Nazir Ahmed Khan, Superintendent of Police, and Ashekur Rahman, Deputy Director of the Islamic Foundation in Cumilla.
Additionally, Mufti Sharif Ullah Tareki, Secretary General of the National Khatib Foundation, will serve as a special speaker. The event will conclude with a dua and munajat led by Allama Shah Salah Uddin Nanupuri, the foundation's senior adviser.
Other notable attendees at the press conference included Shaykh Abdullah Al-Mamun Mostafi, city unit president; Mufti Kazi Abu Yusuf Faruqi, city unit secretary; Mufti Israfil Bin Ahmad, president of Cumilla north district; Maulana Delwar Hossain Oikkobadi, city unit vice president; and Maulana Tafazzal Hossain Abedi, city organizing secretary.
