Dhaka: The International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women will be observed from November 25 to December 10, 2025, spearheaded by the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs. Women and Children Affairs Adviser Sharmeen S Murshid is set to inaugurate the event at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center, according to a press release.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, Momtaz Ahmed, will preside over the event. The theme for this year's observance is 'Unite to End Digital Violence Against All Women and Girls'. This theme will guide the initiatives and discussions over the 16-day period.
The programmes will involve the various departments and organizations under the ministry, alongside collaborations with other ministries, departments, organizations, directorates, and institutions. Additionally, development partners, welfare societies, and NGOs will conduct their own 16-day initiatives aimed at preventing violence against women.
