Pabna: A case has been lodged against 36 leaders and activists of the Awami League (AL) for their alleged involvement in ransacking the Faridpur Upazila BNP Office. The incident reportedly occurred after midnight on Thursday, leading to significant damage to the premises.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the General Secretary of Ward Number-1 of Faridpur Poura BNP, Jamal Uddin, filed the case with Faridpur Thana. The complaint mentions 36 named leaders and activists of the AL, along with 30 to 40 unidentified individuals, as being connected to the attack.
Shafiul Azam, the officer-in-charge of Faridpur Thana, confirmed the filing of the case and stated that efforts are underway to apprehend those responsible for the attack. The attack involved the use of explosives, as cocktails were thrown, and gunfire was reported at the BNP office, resulting in extensive damage.
Local BNP leaders surveyed the damage on Friday and reported the incident to the police. Subsequently, law enforcement officials recovered an unexploded cocktail and a blank cartridge from the scene, adding to the seriousness of the incident.
