Dhaka: BNP Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anee has called for heightened vigilance until an elected government is established in the country. Speaking at a meeting held at Chowpalli KD High School ground, Anee emphasized the importance of an elected parliament and representatives, urging caution and vigilance until fair elections are conducted.

He addressed the gathering at the women’s party of Ward No. 7, 8, and 9 of Uttar Joypur Union in Sadar upazila, highlighting the role of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman in proclaiming Bangladesh’s independence and leading the War of Liberation in 1971.
Anee pointed out the hardships faced by Former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia and BNP’s acting chairman Tarique Rahman, noting that despite being victims of torture and political pressure, the BNP has maintained a non-autocratic stance. He assured the assembly that Tarique Rahman would return to the country soon, and reiterated the BNP’s commitment to realizing the vision of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman.
The BNP leader criticized the previous political regime, mentioning the mass movement against erstwhile Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and asserting that conspiracies against the BNP have not ceased.
