Dhaka: The implementation rate of the Annual Development Programme (ADP) for the first four months of the current fiscal year (FY26) has experienced a slight rise, reaching 8.33 percent. This marks a small increase from the 7.90 percent recorded during the same period in the previous year.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, data released by the Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Division (IMED) indicates that ministries and divisions spent Taka 19,878.34 crore in the initial four months of FY2025-26. This is a decrease from the Taka 21,978.17 crore spent in the corresponding period of FY2024-25. Despite the decline in absolute spending, the increase in the implementation rate suggests improved efficiency in the deployment of allocated funds.

The government has set an ambitious ADP expenditure target of Taka 2,38,695.64 crore for the current fiscal year, aiming to boost development initiatives across various sectors. The slight rise in the implementation rate is seen as a positive indicator of progress towards achieving this target.
