Tarique Rahman’s 61st Birthday Commemorated with Nationwide Initiatives

Dhaka: The 61st birthday of BNP acting Chairman Tarique Rahman was celebrated across the country today. The birthday commemorations took place in a simplified manner following instructions from the BNP leadership, which advised against arranging any elaborate celebrations, including cake-cutting events.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the eldest son of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and former three-time Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia was born on November 20, 1965. In Bogura, a doa mahfil was held at Baitur Rahman Central Mosque, initiated by the district BNP. Notable attendees included BNP Chairperson’s Adviser and former municipality mayor AKM Mahbubur Rahman, former MPs Helaluzzaman Talukder Lalu, Golam Md Siraj, Kazi Rafiqul Islam, and other prominent BNP figures.



In Sherpur, a free medical camp and medicine distribution campaign was launched by the Sherpur Sadar unit BNP. The event was inaugurated by BNP-nominated candidate for Sherpur-1, Dr. Sunsila Jabrin Priyanka, with Professor Dr. Harun Al Rashid, President of the Central Committee of Doctors Association of Bangladesh, attending as the chief guest. The campaign saw participation from various BNP and DAB leaders.



In Naogaon, educational materials were distributed to orphan students at a local madrasa by the Naogaon District Chhatra Dal in honor of Tarique Rahman’s birthday. The event was attended by several Chhatra Dal leaders, including acting President Zakaria Hossain Zakir and General Secretary Md Mamun Bin Islam Doha.



A blood donation drive was conducted in Barishal by the Jatiyatabadi Muktijoddha Dal in front of Ashwini Kumar Town Hall. The program was inaugurated by Advocate Mujibur Rahman Sarwar, a BNP Chairperson adviser and candidate for the Barishal-5 constituency.



The Baufal Upazila Chhatra Dal celebrated the occasion by distributing the Holy Quran among students at Bilbilas Nesaria Fazil Madrasa in Patuakhali. The distribution event was attended by local Chhatra Dal leaders and madrasa representatives.



In Tangail, a doa mahfil was organized at the Court Mosque by the district BNP, with participation from BNP Central Publicity Secretary Sultan Salauddin Tuku and various district BNP leaders.



Marking the occasion, a rally was held in Cumilla city where BNP Chairperson’s Adviser Haji Amin Ur Rashid Yasin addressed attendees, asserting the resilience and growing strength of the BNP despite efforts to undermine it. The Cumilla-6 leaders and activists celebrated by reciting the holy Quran, holding doa mahfils, and distributing food to orphans throughout the day.
