Dhaka: Israel's military on Wednesday warned people in two villages in southern Lebanon to evacuate immediately ahead of incoming strikes on what it said was Hezbollah military infrastructure. "You are located near buildings used by Hezbollah. For your own safety, you must evacuate them immediately and move away from the area," the Israeli military's Arabic-language spokesman Avichay Adraee said in a series of posts on X.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the warning comes amid escalating tensions in the region, where cross-border exchanges between Israel and Hezbollah have intensified. The Israeli military has identified these villages as areas where Hezbollah allegedly operates military facilities, prompting the urgent call for evacuation to prevent civilian casualties.
The announcement by Israel's military underscores the volatility of the situation, as both sides remain on high alert. The warning also highlights the ongoing conflict's impact on local populations, who are often caught in the crossfire of military operations. The villages targeted for evacuation are believed to house Hezbollah's military infrastructure, making them potential targets in the anticipated strikes.
Israel's military has been actively monitoring Hezbollah activities and has previously conducted operations to counter perceived threats from the group. The evacuation notice serves as a preemptive measure to minimize harm to civilians living near the identified sites.
