Madaripur: A shopkeeper was killed and two others were injured in an accident in the Somaddar Bridge area on the Dhaka-Barishal highway in Sadar upazila of the district today. The deceased was identified as Ilias Sarder, 40, son of Monnat Sarder of Noyakandi Bajitpur village in the district.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Mostafapur Highway Police SI Matiar stated that the accident occurred when a covered van hit a roadside shop after its driver lost control of the steering. The crash resulted in the immediate death of Ilias, leaving two others injured.
The injured individuals are identified as Laboni, 12, the daughter of Ilias, and a customer named Shawkat Sarder, 35. Police have seized the covered van involved in the accident.
