World Bank Delegation Engages in Discussions with Jamaat Ameer on Bangladesh’s Economic Reforms

Dhaka: A World Bank delegation led by Jean-Denis Pesme, Country Director of the World Bank’s Dhaka Regional Office, met with Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman at the party chief’s office in Bashundhara, Dhaka.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the delegation included Mehreen A Mahbub, Senior Economist, and MS Ga«lle Martin, Operations Manager. Dr. Rahman was accompanied by economist Dr. Mizanur Rahman, former senior secretary Muhammad Sofiullah, and Jamaat’s adviser on foreign affairs, Professor Dr. Mahmudul Hasan.



During the meeting, the discussions centered on the reform and development of Bangladesh’s financial sector infrastructure. Both sides exchanged views on sustainable economic pathways, taxation issues, and various matters concerning the country’s social sectors.
