Rajshahi: BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today said a vested quarter has been creating division in the BNP and urged leaders and activists of the party to remain alert to face the conspiracy of that quarter. He also stated that another political party is attempting to gain power, but he believes it will not bring any meaningful change to the country or restore discipline in the state.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the BNP Secretary General made these remarks while addressing a public gathering after offering prayers at the grave of late BNP Vice-chairman Barrister Aminul Haque at Godagari in the district on his way to Chapainawabganj. The event was attended by BNP-nominated candidate for the Rajshahi-1 (Godagari-Tanore) constituency Major General (Retd) Sharif Uddin, Adviser to the BNP Chairperson Mijanur Rahman Minu, and former Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation Mosaddique Hossain Bulbul.
Mirza Fakhrul emphasized that a vested political quarter has been attempting to benefit by creating divisions within the party. In this context, he urged BNP leaders and activists to avoid internal conflicts to ensure a greater victory for the BNP.
He also highlighted the contributions of Barrister Aminul Haque to the development of Godagari and Tanore, and noted that BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has nominated his younger brother Sharif Uddin for the constituency. Mirza Fakhrul called on party leaders and activists to unite in support of the nominated candidate.
