Dhaka: Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan has unveiled a cash reward of Taka 10 lakh for the medal winners of the 24th Teer Asian Archery Championship, which concluded earlier today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Adviser made the announcement during the prize distribution ceremony held at Bangladesh Army Stadium, where he was present as the chief guest. The reward is set to benefit Himu Bachar and Bonna Akter, who won silver in the compound mixed team event, and Kulsum Akter Moni, who secured bronze in the compound women's singles. Each of these archers will receive a grant of Taka 10 lakh.
Speaking at the event, the Adviser highlighted the aspirations of Bangladesh in achieving an Olympic gold medal through archery. He emphasized the need for facilities that match international standards to support athletes in reaching this goal. The Ministry of Youth and Sports, he assured, is committed to providing necessary support to help realize this dream.
Bonna Akter expressed her delight at the announcement, stating that the financial reward would boost their enthusiasm for archery and help them maintain focus on the sport.
