Global Climate Strike Programme Held at RU with Calls for Climate Protection

Rajshahi: Various student organizations today observed global climate strike programmes at Rajshahi University (RU) campus with the call for ensuring climate protection together with enhancing fuel security. They also unequivocally called for stopping funding to fossil fuel, expanding renewable energies, enhancing investment in sustainable agriculture, and providing necessary financial incentives.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Youth in Research and Action for Social Change (YOUREACH) organized the programme supported by ActionAID and Climate Frontier. Various other organizations, including Green Voice and Red Crescent Society, also joined the programme, raising their voices for ensuring climate justice.

YOUREACH Founder Mehedi Hassan emphasized their goal of establishing a habitable global future through building a sustainable earth. The climate-aware present youths aim to convey their concerns to leaders and policymakers both at home and abroad.
