Dhaka: A day-long national conference was held today at Dhaka University (DU) to evaluate the experience and role of the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) in ensuring the quality and development of higher education in the country's universities. The event aimed to highlight the contributions and challenges faced by IQAC in maintaining educational standards.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the conference, titled 'Development of Higher Education Quality: IQAC's Ruling Experience in Bangladeshi Universities,' took place at the Prof. Abdul Matin Chowdhury Virtual Classroom of the university this morning. Organized by DU IQAC, the conference was attended by representatives from both public and private universities across the country.
The event saw DU pro-vice chancellor (Admin) Prof. Sayema Haque Bidisha serve as the chief guest, with DU IQAC director Dr. M Rezaul Islam presiding over the session. Special guests included DU pro-vice chancellor (Education) Prof. Mamun Ahmed and treasurer Prof. M Jahangir Alam Chowdhury. IQAC director and ULAB acting VC Prof. Jude William Genilo, along with Dr. Md Saiful Islam, jointly presented the main article at the conference.
In her address as the chief guest, Prof. Sayema emphasized the importance of skilled management and digitalization, alongside the enhancement of classroom education quality, to ensure superior higher education. She urged all stakeholders to collaborate in efforts to elevate educational standards. Prof. Mamun echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the need to inspire students by instilling moral education and social responsibility.
