Dhaka: As part of the ongoing campaign to bring the traffic system under control, Dhaka Metropolitan Police's (DMP) Traffic Division has filed a total of 2,400 cases against vehicles, owners, and drivers for violating traffic rules. Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations Division) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Muhammad Talebur Rahman stated that the DMP Traffic Division conducted a campaign against traffic violators during the last day and filed these cases.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the DMP traffic police dumped 486 motor vehicles and towed 97 vehicles during the campaign against traffic rule violations on November 11. The press release indicated that several teams from the DMP traffic division have been working to streamline the traffic system in the capital to facilitate easier movement for city dwellers.
The release further mentioned that the campaign against traffic violators will continue to ensure discipline on Dhaka's streets. Specific divisions within the DMP registered cases against motor vehicles, three-wheelers, and motorcycles: Motijheel filed 408 cases, Wari registered 323 cases, Tejgaon filed 311 cases, Mirpur filed 328 cases, Gulshan filed 337 cases, Uttara registered 349 cases, Ramna filed 107 cases, and Lalbagh registered 237 cases.
