DU Science Faculty Dean’s Award Distributed

Dhaka: The Dean's Award for three years under the Faculty of Science of Dhaka University (DU) has been awarded among the students and teachers of the university. The awards were given to students and teachers at a ceremony held at the university's Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Building today, said a press release.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a total of 76 students from eight departments and one institute of the faculty received the Dean's Award. In addition, ten teachers were awarded Dean's Awards for research books published in home and abroad journals and original articles published in recognized journals. Furthermore, 38 teachers from different departments of the faculty were given incentive checks for research papers published in Q1 and Q2 journals.

DU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan addressed the event as the chief guest while Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) of Dhaka University Professor Dr. Saima Haque Bidisha, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) Professor Dr. Mamun Ahmed, Treasurer Professor Dr. M Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, and Pro-Vice Chancellor of the National University Professor Md. Lutfar Rahman were present as special guests. Dean of the Faculty of Science Professor Dr. Abdus Salam presided over the programme. Bangladesh Open University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. ABM Obaidul Islam was present as the special speaker at the event.

DU VC Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan expressed that these events are a great opportunity to honor the hard work and achievements of teachers and students, stating that such initiatives are highly commendable. He emphasized that this success is not the result of a single effort, highlighting the contribution of family, colleagues, friends, and even people from different walks of life.
