The winners of this series will secure a sixth place in the FIH Men's Hockey World Cup qualifiers, scheduled for February and March next year. The series is expected to deliver competitive hockey as both sides look to build rhythm and confidence ahead of the World Cup qualifiers.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Bangladesh coach Siegfried Gottlieb Aikman admitted at a press conference that it is a huge challenge for his team because the Pakistani team is not only ahead in ranking but also in experience. He acknowledged a significant gap between the two teams but emphasized that the goal is to reduce that gap. The team has prepared as much as possible and is looking forward to a competitive encounter.
Rezaul Karim Babu, the captain of the Bangladesh national hockey team, expressed that despite Pakistan being a better team, Bangladesh has nothing to lose. He highlighted the presence of seven players from the Under-21 team, noting their good understanding and experience.
