Gazipur: The government has decided to suspend Dr. Md. Nazmul Karim Khan, the Police Commissioner of Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP), in the public interest. The action was taken under Section 39(1) of the Government Services Act, 2018 (Act No. 57 of 2018).
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, an official order from the Ministry of Home Affairs stated that Dr. Nazmul Karim Khan, who had previously been relieved of his duties at GMP and assigned to the Police Headquarters, will now be attached to the Ministry of Home Affairs during his suspension. During this period, he will be eligible to receive a subsistence allowance as per government regulations.
The order, marked as being in the public interest, was authorized by Senior Secretary Nasimul Ghani on behalf of the President.
