Law and Order Situation Remains Conducive for Fair Polls: Home Adviser

Dhaka: Home Adviser Lt Gen Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (retd) today said the overall law and order situation in the country is satisfactory and a favorable environment is prevailing for holding elections in a proper manner. 'The country's law and order situation has improved significantly. Although some minor incidents have occurred, the overall situation remains well,' he told journalists after laying the foundation stone of a dormitory building at Sirajdikhan upazila today.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the home adviser emphasized the importance of maintaining stability ahead of the upcoming polls and directed all members of the administration to remain vigilant. In addition to his remarks on law and order, he visited the Sirajdikhan Upazila Health Complex to inquire about healthcare services and inspected several proposed sites for establishing a nursing institute in the upazila.

The event was attended by key officials including Dhaka Range DIG Rezaul Karim Mallik, Munshiganj Deputy Commissioner Fatema Tul Zannat, Superintendent of Police Mohammad Shamsul Alam Sarkar, and Sirajdikhan Upazila Nirbahi Officer Shahina Akter. The Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) has undertaken the construction of the four-storey dormitory building, which will cost Tk 2.94 crore.
