Milad Mahfil Commemorates Tariqul Islam’s Contributions in Narail

Narail: A discussion meeting and milad mahfil were held in Narail on Monday afternoon to commemorate the seventh death anniversary of BNP Standing Committee Member and former minister Tariqul Islam.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event was a joint effort by Narail Sadar Upazila BNP and Nagar BNP, taking place in front of the party office at the town's main intersection. Md. Monirul Islam, general secretary of the district BNP and former chairman of Narail Sadar Upazila Parishad, graced the program as the chief guest.

The meeting was led by district town BNP president Belayet Hossain Babu, with Sadar Upazila BNP president Mustafizur Rahman Alek and general secretary Mozahidur Rahman Palash serving as special guests. The district BNP general secretary, Khandaker Fasiar Rahman, conducted the discussion.

Among the attendees and speakers were BNP leaders Shahriar Rizvi George, Md. Ali Hasan, Ashok Kundu, Md. Azizur Rahman, Ibadat Mina, Md. Sultan Mollah, and Syed Harun-or-Rashid. Lohagara Upazila BNP president Ahaduzzaman Batu, general secretary Kazi Sultanuzzaman Selim, and District Jatiyatabadi Ulama Dal president Maulana Taiyebur Rahman also participated.

The event saw participation from leaders of different BNP-affiliated organizations, including Sadar Upazila Mohila Dal president Mudhumita Begum, District Sramik Dal general secretary Mushfiqur Rahman Bachchu, Jubo Dal District president Md. Moshiar Rahman, and general secretary Sayadat Kabir Rubel. Chhatra Dal District president Md. Farid Bishwas, general secretary Mahmudul Hasan Sunny, and leaders Mehedi Hasan Sabuj and Hamidul Islam Tonu were also present.

Speakers at the program reflected on Tariqul Islam's significant contributions to both the country and the BNP. They expressed their commitment to uphold BNP's political activities, inspired by the ideals of Tariqul Islam, the philosophy of martyred President Ziaur Rahman, and the democratic struggle of Begum Khaleda Zia. The event concluded with special prayers for the eternal peace of Tariqul Islam's soul.
