Rajshahi in Control Over Khulna in NCL Game

Rajshahi: Shakhir Hossain Shuvro hit 89 as Rajshahi Division took control over Khulna on Day 2 of their second round game in the National Cricket League (NCL) at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium today. Resuming the day at 87-3, Rajshahi put up 268 before being all out and took a 147-run first innings lead. Khulna reached 68-1 before the bad light brought a premature end to the day, still trailing by 79 runs. Anamul Haque Bijoy was batting on 27 with Amit Mojumdar on 15 when the bails were drawn. Soumya Sarkar was the only batter out with 10 for Khulna.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Shakhir earlier led Rajshahi to achieve a big lead after Khulna made regular inroads to leave them at 124-5. Shakhir, who hit 89, smashed six fours and three sixes in his knock. He added a crucial 62 runs with Ali Mohammad Walid for the ninth wicket to pave the side's way for a big lead. Walid made 24 before Shakhir was the last batter out after being denied his century by 11 runs. Pritom Kumar was the other notable scorer for Rajshahi with 47 runs.
