Four Dengue Patients Die as 1,041 New Cases Emerge Overnight

Dhaka: Health officials today reported the detection of 1,041 new dengue cases, with at least four fatalities occurring in the past 24 hours.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a statement from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) detailed the geographical distribution of the new cases. Out of the 1,041 patients, 174 were hospitalized in Barishal division, 120 in Chattogram division, 206 in Dhaka division excluding the capital, 140 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), and 230 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas. The report further noted that Khulna and Mymensingh divisions each recorded 49 cases, Rajshahi division had 45 cases, Rangpur division had 19 cases, and Sylhet division reported nine cases.



The ongoing dengue outbreak in Bangladesh has resulted in 273 deaths and 67,464 infections so far this year. In contrast, the previous year saw 575 fatalities and 101,214 infections due to dengue in the country.
