According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the specifics of the discussions in Oslo remain undisclosed. However, Prime Minister Store emphasized Norway's commitment to Ukraine, stating that the Scandinavian nation supports Ukraine's aspiration for a lasting and just peace. Norway is recognized as one of Ukraine's significant allies in its defense against Russia's invasion.
Oslo has committed substantial civil and military assistance amounting to 275 billion kroner ($27.4 billion) for Ukraine from 2023 to 2030. Store highlighted the importance of continuous dialogue with Ukrainian authorities to ensure the aid aligns with the needs on the ground. Additionally, Norway announced an allocation of 1.5 billion kroner from the aid package to support Ukraine's gas purchases amidst increased Russian attacks on Ukrainian energy facilities as winter nears.
Following his visit to Oslo, Zelensky is scheduled to travel to Sweden, where he will meet with Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson in Linkoping. The Swedish government has indicated that a defense export announcement is anticipated during Zelensky's visit. Saab, a prominent defense group located in Linkoping, is known for producing the Gripen fighter jet, among other military equipment. A joint press conference with Kristersson and Zelensky is expected to provide further details on this defense collaboration.
