Madaripur: A man was killed and three others were injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a Mahindra truck at Iterpul regional highway in the district town on Sunday morning. The deceased was identified as Shah Alam Matubbar, 55, son of the late Hossain Matubbar of Ghatmajhi union in Sadar upazila of the district.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the accident occurred when a passenger bus collided head-on with a Mahindra truck and overturned, causing serious injuries to four Mahindra passengers. Md. Adil Hossain, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Madaripur Sadar Police Station, confirmed the details of the incident.
Local residents promptly rescued the injured and transported them to Madaripur Sadar Hospital. Tragically, Shah Alam succumbed to his injuries while being transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
