Dhaka: Health officials today announced the recording of 950 new dengue cases, with the disease claiming one life in the past 24 hours.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) reported that the new cases include 191 patients hospitalized in the Barishal division, 118 in the Chattogram division, and 132 in the Dhaka division excluding the capital. Additionally, 129 cases were reported in the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and 154 in the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas. Other regions affected include Khulna with 67 cases, Mymensingh with 56 cases, Rajshahi with 83 cases, and Rangpur with 20 cases.
Since the onset of the dengue outbreak this year, Bangladesh has witnessed 245 deaths and 59,849 infections. In comparison, last year, the disease claimed 575 lives and affected 101,214 individuals across the country.
