Dhaka: Religious Affairs Adviser Dr AFM Khalid Hossain today urged Madrasa students to come forward and prepare themselves to play a leading role in fulfilling the nation's dream for the future. "To fulfill the dream of tomorrow, madrasa students must come forward and for that, preparation is essential," he said while addressing the grand finale and prize-giving ceremony of the 1st MDC National School, College, and Inter-Madrasa Debate Competition, held at Tamirul Millat Kamil Madrasa in Jatrabari this morning.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the adviser emphasized the need for students to become qualified and competent to attain honorable positions in life. He highlighted the importance of leaving a mark of excellence in various sectors including administration, law enforcement, education, and health, thereby contributing to the development of the country and the nation.
Dr Khalid acknowledged the progress made so far but insisted that there is still a long way to go. He stressed the necessity of continuing to move forward, overcoming obstacles, and not stopping midway. He called for unity, urging everyone to forget divisions and differences and stand united under the banner of Kalema Tayyeba.
The event concluded with the adviser distributing prizes among the champion and runner-up teams in different categories. The three-month-long debate competition featured participation from 54 renowned educational institutions across the country in school, college, and madrasa categories. In the school category, Mugda Ideal School and College emerged as champion, while Banasree Ideal School and College became runner-up. Notre Dame College won the championship in the college and open category, with Monipur School and College securing the runner-up position. In the madrasa category, Tamirul Millat Kamil Madrasa claimed the championship title, while Baitush Sharaf Adarsha Kamil Madrasa finished as runner-up.
The event was chaired by the principal of Tamirul Millat Kamil Madrasa, Dr Mohammad Khalilur Rahman Madani, and was also addressed by Vice-Chancellor of Islamic Arabic University Dr Shamsul Alam, DUCSU VP Abu Sadiq Kayem, Joint Secretary of the Madrasa and Technical Education Division Md Moniruzzaman Bhuiyan, Managing Director of Al Fatah Publications M A Saeed, and Chairman of the Governing Body of Tamirul Millat Kamil Madrasa Professor Nurunnabi Manik.
