Dhaka: Health officials today said they recorded 857 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts killing at least three persons in the past 24 hours.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a statement from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) detailed the distribution of new cases. Of the 857 cases, 163 patients were hospitalized in Barishal division, 87 in Chattogram division, 136 in Dhaka division excluding the capital, 145 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), and 138 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas. Additionally, 60 cases were reported in Khulna division, 39 in Mymensingh division, 76 in Rajshahi division, seven in Rangpur division, and six in Sylhet division.
Since the start of the dengue onslaughts, Bangladesh has so far witnessed 233 deaths, while the disease has inflicted 55,416 people. The previous year saw dengue claiming 575 lives and affecting 101,214 people across the country.
