Jhenaidah: A college student succumbed to a snakebite at Ausiya village in Shailkupa upazila last night.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the deceased, Hridoy Hossain, 18, was a second-year student at Jhenaidah Polytechnic Institute. Hridoy, the son of Milton Biswas, was bitten by a poisonous snake while he was asleep in his residence.
After the incident, Hridoy was immediately taken to Shailkupa Upazila Health Complex. However, as his condition worsened, the attending doctor referred him to Kushtia General Hospital, where he passed away on Monday morning.
The incident was confirmed by Masum Khan, Officer-in-Charge of Shailkupa Police Station.
