Gazipur: Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb, Special Assistant to the Chief Advisor, announced that the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology will collaborate with the National University (NU) to implement technology-based initiatives. This collaboration includes the deployment of automated systems aimed at accelerating the publication of examination results.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Taiyeb highlighted a series of initiatives undertaken by the NU, such as making ICT and English compulsory at the BA (honours) level. He assured that the ICT Division is committed to providing comprehensive support to the National University to facilitate the successful execution of these initiatives.
Taiyeb shared these insights during a workshop focused on developing online training content for teachers to implement the ICT curriculum of the National University. The workshop, held at a resort in Maona, Gazipur, was presided over by National University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. ASM Amanullah and included a virtual address by UNICEF Chief of Education Deepa Shankar as the special guest.
The three-day event received technical support from the Aspire to Innovate (a2i) Programme of the ICT Division and UNICEF Bangladesh. Key speakers included a2i Project Director Md Abdur Rafiq, Policy Analyst Afzal Hossain Sarwar, Head of Programme Abdullah Al Fahim, and UNICEF Education Specialist Rafiqul Islam Sujon.
Director of the National University's Teacher Training Department, Salma Parvin, led the workshop, which also featured an address by Associate Professor Dr. Najma Tara of the NU. The discussions centered on designing and scripting online training, validating training materials, and finalizing online training modules.
Participants in the workshop included ICT teachers from colleges affiliated with the National University, teacher trainers, experts in online training design and content development, and officials from UNICEF Bangladesh, a2i, and the National University.
