Dhaka: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) standing committee member Salahuddin Ahmed urged the party leaders and workers to compete in the political field with talent, honesty, and good leadership. He made the call at a discussion organized by Chhatra Dal to mark the sixth death anniversary of BUET student Abrar Fahad at the Teacher-Student Centre (TSC) auditorium of Dhaka University today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Salahuddin Ahmed highlighted the challenges Bangladesh faces from three superpowers attempting aggression. He identified two regional powers and one global power exerting influence over the nation. He emphasized the risks associated with speaking against India's actions, citing the murder of Abrar Fahad as a warning against dissent.
Salahuddin further stated that a superpower country has managed to exercise political hegemony and aggression due to the leadership of Hasina. During the program, Chhatra Dal leaders accused an organization of covertly operating within the leadership of Chhatra League during Abrar Fahad's murder. They also accused Jamaat leader Shishir Manir of attempting to protect the murderers from facing the death penalty.
Abrar Fahad, a second-year student of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at BUET, was brutally murdered by Chhatra League on October 6, 2019, following a Facebook post about an unequal agreement and water aggression.
