Dhaka: Bangladesh's Ambassador to Palau Mohammad Sarwar Mahmood has formally presented his credentials to Palau's President Surangel S. Whipps at the President's Office: During the ceremony held on Tuesday, Ambassador Mahmood conveyed warm greetings from the government and the people of Bangladesh, according to a message received here today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Ambassador Mahmood briefed President Whipps on Bangladesh's economic growth and socio-economic achievements over the past 54 years, particularly in areas such as export diversification, social development, and digital transformation.
The ambassador emphasized Bangladesh's willingness to deepen bilateral and economic relations with Palau, highlighting opportunities for cooperation in trade, investment, and development partnerships. He also noted the potential for collaboration in climate change adaptation and maritime affairs, pointing out that both Bangladesh and Palau share vulnerabilities as climate-affected nations.
Welcoming the ambassador, President Whipps wished him success in his tenure. He assured the envoy of all possible cooperation and reaffirmed Palau's commitment to strengthening the friendly relations between the two countries.
