Jashore: Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs Nasimul Ghani today stated that people of all faiths in Bangladesh are celebrating their religious festivals peacefully, reflecting the nation's long tradition of communal harmony. He made the remarks while visiting several Durga Puja mandaps in Keshabpur upazila of Jashore district.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Senior Secretary emphasized that although Durga Puja is primarily a Hindu festival, it has become a celebration embraced by all in Bangladesh. During his visit, he exchanged views with devotees and highlighted the interfaith unity in the country, noting that citizens from all religious backgrounds can observe their festivals without fear or disruption.
Khulna Range DIG of Police Md. Rezaul Haque, Jashore Deputy Commissioner Md. Azaharul Haque, Superintendent of Police Rownaq Jahan, BNP's National Executive Committee Assistant Secretary for Religious Affairs Amlendu Das Apu, Keshabpur UNO, and local temple committee leaders were present on the occasion.
This year, nearly 100 Durga Puja mandaps have been set up across Keshabpur's 12 unions and municipal area, showcasing the widespread participation and communal harmony during the festivities.
