Anwara: Liberation War Advisor Faruk-e-Azam today emphasized the importance of communal harmony for Bangladesh's progress, advocating for development free from caste, religious, or social discrimination. "We want to build a peaceful Bangladesh where future generations can flourish," he stated during his visit to the Joykali Bazar Kachikancha Puja Mandap and the Ramakrishna-Sarda Sevashram Puja Mandap in Sadar Union of Anwara upazila.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Faruk-e-Azam highlighted Durga Puja as a festival that transcends religious boundaries, uniting people of diverse faiths in Bengal. While primarily a Hindu religious occasion, it has evolved into a nationwide cultural festival. As this year's celebrations draw to a close, he expressed hope for a joyful conclusion to the festival.
Remembering the sacrifices made during the Liberation War, Faruk-e-Azam stressed the need for unity and inclusivity as guiding principles for the nation. He urged communities to uphold religious harmony to foster peace and societal advancement.
During his visit, Faruk-e-Azam extended greetings to Hindu devotees and advocated for practices that promote unity and brotherhood. The event was attended by several notable figures, including Hindu Religious Welfare Trust Trustee Deepak Kumar Palit, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Md Saiduzzaman, District Police Superintendent Md Saiful Islam Santu, Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad Central Committee Joint General Secretary Shyamal Palit, Anwara Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Tahmina Akhter, Upazila Project Implementation Officer Uma Khan Kafi, and Anwara Puja Udjapan Parishad President Sagar Mitra and General Secretary Pradeep Dhar.
