Barishal: Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Adviser Dr. Asif Nazrul has denied the chance of lifting the ban on activities of the fallen fascist Awami League soon. The adviser made this statement while responding to queries from journalists after visiting a Puja Mandap at Sree Sree Sankar Math in Barishal city.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dr. Nazrul addressed the nature of the ban on the Awami League, pondering whether it is permanent or temporary. He stated, "I don't see any possibility that the ban on Awami League activities will be lifted soon." The adviser also mentioned that the national elections are scheduled to take place in the first half of February 2026.
Furthermore, Dr. Nazrul commented on the unrest in the Chattogram Hill Tracts, asserting that the government will take action against those responsible. During his visit, he engaged with leaders of the Hindu community, exchanging greetings and discussing various issues.
Present at the event were Barishal Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Delwar Hussain, Superintendent of Police Md. Sharif Uddin, Sree Sree Sankar Math, Barishal Committee President Kanu Lal Saha, and former General Secretary Tammay Topu, among others.
