Srimangal: One person was killed and two others were seriously injured in a head-on collision between a private car and a Noah microbus on Matiganj Lawarkul Bridge in Srimangal upazila. The accident occurred early today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the deceased was identified as Abdul Gafur Sheikh, a resident of the Muslimbagh area of the upazila. Abdul Gafur Sheikh, who was a cloth merchant by profession, died on the spot following the collision.
The two other passengers of the private car, identified as Md. Tanvir Hossain Johnny and Ajay Singh, sustained critical injuries. They were referred to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment.
Md. Aminul Islam, Officer-in-Charge of Srimangal Police Station, stated that the accident occurred around 6:00 am. A team from Srimangal Fire Service arrived at the scene promptly and rescued the injured individuals.
