Bandarban: A free medical camp was organized yesterday at the Central Durga Puja Udjapan Mandap at Rajar Maidan in the district on the occasion of Durga Puja. The initiative aimed to provide essential healthcare services to the local community during the festival.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the medical camp was arranged by the Bandarban Central Durga Puja Udjapan Parishad as part of its humanitarian initiative during the festival. Various specialist doctors, including ophthalmologists, dentists, and gynecologists, were present to offer medical consultations and treatment to the attendees.
In addition to the free consultations, essential medicines were distributed among poor and helpless patients, ensuring that those in need had access to necessary healthcare support. Distressed individuals from nine wards under Sadar upazila were able to receive these healthcare services from the specialist physicians.
Sabuj Dutta Bachchu, General Secretary of the Bandarban Central Durga Puja Udjapan Parishad, remarked, “This is the first time a free medical camp and medicine distribution programme has been organized in Bandarban on the occasion of Durga Puja. Through such humanitarian activities, underprivileged people are receiving much-needed medical support.”
