Lakshmipur: BNP Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie today emphasized that no individual will be allowed to leverage the party for personal interests, warning that anyone attempting such actions must leave the BNP immediately. “The party will not be used for individual gain… if anyone tries, they will not be allowed to stay in BNP,” Annie declared during an interaction with leaders of the Hindu community after visiting the Battoli Sri Sri Sathyanarayan temple in Sadar upazila this afternoon.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Annie, who also serves as the president of Lakshmipur district BNP, stated that under the guidance of Tarique Rahman, BNP leaders and activists are committed to protecting the homes and temples of the Hindu community. He accused the current regime led by Sheikh Hasina of persecuting the Hindu community, while asserting that BNP has been their safeguard.
Annie reassured the community that they are currently safe and well, pledging continued support from BNP leaders. Speaking during the ongoing Durga Puja celebrations, he highlighted Tarique Rahman’s consistent reminders to BNP members to ensure the peaceful and dignified celebration of the puja by the Hindu community.
He concluded by affirming BNP’s dedication to realizing the vision of the late President Ziaur Rahman.
