2nd Day of Durga Puja Celebrated Peacefully in Chittagong

Chittagong: The second day of the five-day Sharadiya Durga Puja, the largest religious festival for the Hindu community, was celebrated today across the city and district with festivity and enthusiasm. A notable number of Hindu devotees gathered at various puja mandaps to offer their prayers, marking the event with traditional pomp and ceremony.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, devotees from different walks of life visited renowned puja mandaps such as J M Sen Hall, Ramkrishna Mission, Hazari Lane, Sadarghat Kalibari, Krishno Kumari, Patharghat, and Goashil Danga. The morning saw these locations bustling with activity as people performed their Saptami Puja rituals. In addition to the religious observances, cultural functions and a discussion meeting were organized at J M Sen Hall’s premises at 4 pm, drawing participation from numerous devotees.



Advocate Nikil Das, General Secretary of Chattogram City Puja Udjapon Parishad, mentioned that a comprehensive five-tier security measure had been put in place for the festival. This security arrangement was aimed at ensuring the celebration proceeded smoothly and safely, allowing the religious carnival to be enjoyed with the intended spirit and fervor. Advocate Das voiced his satisfaction regarding the arrangements and the administration’s support, which he credited for the peaceful celebration of this significant religious festival.
