Dhaka: BNP Vice-Chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu today remarked that those attempting to delay the upcoming national election by introducing new demands are living in a fool's paradise. He emphasized that a certain group believes they have no future if an election occurs, which is why they are making various statements and demands to prolong the process.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dudu made these comments as the chief guest at a rally organized by the Jatiyatabadi Lekhak Forum in front of the National Press Club. He stated that the people are eager to exercise their voting rights, having struggled for 16 years to protect them. Dudu challenged those doubting the election's importance to test their popularity through the electoral process.
He also criticized the previous tenure of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, describing her rule as ruthless and autocratic, and referred to her downfall as the "revenge of time." The rally was led by Jatiyatabadi Lekhak Forum President Kabi Shahin Reza, with speeches from BNP Chairperson's Advisor Bir Muktijoddha Abdus Salam and Forum member Mainul Islam, among others.
