Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus Extends Greetings to Hindu Community on Durga Puja

Dhaka: Chief Adviser (CA) Professor Muhammad Yunus today extended heartfelt greetings to all Hindu citizens across the nation as they prepare to celebrate Durga Puja, the most significant religious festival for the Bangalee Hindu community, which commences tomorrow.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dr. Yunus emphasized the symbolic destruction of evil forces and the reverence for truth and beauty that are central to the Sharadiyo Durgotsab. Highlighting Bangladesh’s tradition of communal harmony, he stated, “This country belongs to all of us. It is a safe abode for people of all castes and religions.”



The Chief Adviser further stressed the importance of unity in achieving national progress. “To successfully implement the progress we have begun through the July mass uprising to build a prosperous country free from discrimination and corruption, everyone must work together, forgetting religious and caste differences,” Prof. Yunus said.



He praised Bangladesh as a model of harmonious coexistence among different religious and ethnic communities, expressing hope that Durga Puja would be celebrated peacefully across the country, maintaining this spirit of unity. “Regardless of race, religion, and caste, we all are identified as Bangladeshis,” he added.



Professor Yunus highlighted the core values shared by all religions, including peace, friendship, and equality, and called for mutual respect and compassion. He urged citizens to be inspired by the anti-discrimination spirit, preserve communal harmony, and contribute to building a happy Bangladesh.



Concluding his message, the Chief Adviser wished peace, welfare, and prosperity for all citizens of Bangladesh.
