Manikganj: Members of Manikganj Sadar Police Station rescued 100 bags of stolen rice from Singair upazila of the district in the early hours of today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the team also detained a pickup from the spot, as confirmed by SM Aman Ullah, officer-in-charge (OC) of Manikganj Sadar Police Station. On secret information directed by the OC, a team of Singair Police Station began searching vehicles moving towards Singair.
During the operation, the thieves abandoned the pickup loaded with stolen rice from a shop named Tanuratna and fled the scene. The police detained the pickup and seized the rice at approximately 2 am today, the OC added.
