Dhaka: Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested Awami League leader and former general secretary of the banned Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) Ajoy Kar Khokon from the capital’s Gulshan area early today. Deputy Commissioner of DMP’s Media and Public Relations Division Muhammad Talebur Rahman confirmed the arrest.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the arrest of Ajoy Kar Khokon marks a significant development within the political landscape of the region. The operation was conducted by the DB in the early hours, targeting the Gulshan area known for its diplomatic and affluent presence. Khokon, who held a prominent position within the BCL, an organization that has been banned, was taken into custody by law enforcement officials.
