Dhaka: Bangladesh captain Nigar Sultana Joty is considering a break from cricket as part of managing her workload after the ICC Cricket World Cup. “I have been playing cricket for the last six months, so it’s important to manage the workload,” Joty stated during a press conference at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium. “That’s why I am thinking about a break to work on specific areas.”

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Joty clarified that her break would not extend to international cricket. Instead, she plans to skip the National Cricket League (NCL), a domestic tournament scheduled after the World Cup. “The break is not applicable for international cricket. I just won’t play the domestic cricket that is scheduled after the World Cup,” she explained.

Joty emphasized her intention to use this period to focus on specific areas to enhance her skills and better prepare for international cricket.
