Final Phase of 49th National Chess Championship Set to Commence Tomorrow

Dhaka: The final phase of the 49th National Chess Championship is scheduled to begin at the Youth Tower auditorium in Sheorapara tomorrow. The anticipated event promises to showcase a series of competitive matches among the nation's top chess players.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the preliminary activities, including the number draw and technical meeting for the participating players, were conducted today at the Bangladesh Chess Federation hall. The draw determined the matchups and player numbers for the championship.

The list of players includes prominent names such as International Master Md. Minhaz Uddin of Bangladesh Navy, Mohammed Shaker Ullah of Cox's Bazar district, FIDE Master Subrata Biswas of Dhaka University, and International Master Abu Safian Shakil. Other competitors include FIDE Master Tahsin Tajwar Zia, Candidate Master Md. Abu Hanif, FIDE Master Sakline Mostafa Sajid, and FIDE Master Md. Sharif Hossain. Notably, Grandmaster Niaz Murshed of Bangladesh Ansar, last year's runner-up International Master Mohammad Fahad Rahman, and reigning champion International Master Manon Reza Neer will also participate.

In the first round of matches, International Master Md. Minhaz Uddin will compete against FIDE Master Mohammad Javed, while Mohammad Shaker Ullah is set to face International Master Manon Reja Neer. FIDE Master Subrota Biswas will play against International Master Mohammad Fahad Rahman, and International Master Abu Safian Shakil will take on Grandmaster Niaz Murshed. Other matches include FIDE Master Tahsin Tajwar Zia against FIDE Master Khandaker Aminul Islam, Candidate Master Md. Abu Hanif versus Aanat Choudhury, and FIDE Master Sakline Mostafa Sajid against FIDE Master Md. Sharif Hossain.
