Rajshahi: The final round of the new edition of the JFA U-14 Women’s Development programme is set to kick off at Muktijuddha Smrity Stadium in Rajshahi tomorrow with two matches scheduled for the opening day.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Rajshahi district will face Rangpur district in the first match at 2.30 pm, followed by a match between Mymensingh district and Khagrachari district at 4.30 pm. The final round was initially expected to include the champions of the six venues, hosts Rajshahi, and the best runner-up. However, the third team from the Rangamati zone will participate in the final round instead of the host venue champions and host Khagrachari district.
A press conference was held at Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) Bhaban today in this regard. BFF women’s wing chairman, Mahfuza Akter Kiron, stated that the champions and hosts of the Rangamati zone, Rangamati district, will not participate in the final round. The venue runners-up, Cox’s Bazar, will also not participate, allowing the third team in this zone, Khagrachari, to play in the final round instead of Rangamati.
Eight district teams, divided into two groups, will compete in the final round. After the group phase matches, the top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals on September 23, with the final scheduled for September 25.
The participating district teams in the final round are:
Group A – Rajshahi, Khagrachari, Mymensingh, and Rangpur districts.
Group B – Thakurgaon, Chapai Nawabganj, Khulna, and Manikganj districts.
The preliminary round of the JFA U-14 Women’s Development programme was held last month with the participation of forty-two teams across the country, marking the Festival of Youth 2025.
